phenylbutazone 1 g. Excipients and preservatives csp 5 g.
Phenylbutazone is a classic nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It is chemically related to aminopyrine and antipyrine and shares a common mechanism of action. It produces a likely irreversible blockade of the cyclooxygenase enzyme system. This confers its anti-inflammatory properties in vivo.
Barbiturates, corticosteroids and anticoagulants (potentiation). Prostaglandins (prostaglandin effect).
Equidae: Inflammatory processes in equines, except those that occur with lesions of the intestinal mucosa.
Acute localized inflammation of the musculoskeletal system, such as arthritis, tendonitis, myositis, synovitis, fossure, etc. Trauma in general. Post-surgical treatments of all kinds such as sutures of skin wounds, surgery of the musculoskeletal system. abdominal surgery, etc. (does not interfere in the healing process).
Pain in general, either causing lameness or any other functional claudication.
Degenerative lesions of the intestinal mucosa, dehydration, renal failure, liver failure.
Prolonged use can cause gastrointestinal lesions. Occasional edema of the extremities has been observed.
Orally.
• The granules must always be administered in equines mixed with the daily ration, under the following dosage regimen:
Day 1: 4,4 mg/kg every 12 hours.
Day 2-5: 2,2 mg/kg every 12 hours.
Day 6 onwards: 2,2 mg/kg every 24 hours.
• This dosage is equivalent, for an adult horse weighing approximately 500 kg to:
Day 1: 2 sachets every 12 hours.
Day 2-5: 1 over every 12 hours.
Day 6 onwards: 1 out of every 24 hours.
• It is essential that the horse always have plenty of water or drink.
Do not use 7 days before the races in competition animals, as it can give a positive result in the anti-doping control.
Do not administer to equines whose meat is intended for human consumption.
Store in a cool, dry place.
With veterinary prescription.
