Antigalactogen in oral solution

Composition per ml:
Cabergoline 50 µg.
Pharmacological properties
Cabergoline inhibits the release of prolactin in the anterior pituitary and thus interferes with all processes that depend on this hormone, such as lactation.
Interactions and incompatibilities
Do not administer simultaneously with drugs that have dopaminergic antagonist activity (such as phenothiazines, butyrophenones and metoclopramide).
Cabergoline can cause transient hypotension, so it should not be used in animals treated with hypotensive drugs.
Indications
Bitches:
Treatment of pseudopregnancy.
Suppression of lactation in the following situations: Separation of the pups immediately after delivery, early weaning, fetal death, abortion at the end of gestation, after ovariohysterectomy.
Contraindications
Do not use in pregnant animals, since the veterinary medicine can cause an abortion.
Do not use with dopamine antagonists.
Adverse reactions
Anorexia and vomiting have been observed very rarely after the first or second administration. These effects are moderate and transient. In such cases, treatment should not be interrupted, except if vomiting is severe or recurrent in subsequent administrations.
Neurological symptoms such as somnolence, muscle tremors, ataxia, hyperactivity and seizures have been observed very rarely.
Allergic reactions such as allergic edema, urticaria, dermatitis and pruritus have been observed very rarely.
Route of administration
Oral, directly in the mouth or mixed with food.
Posology
Bitches: 1 ml/10 kg bw (equivalent to 5 µg of cabergoline/kg bw)/day, for 4 to 6 days. In small breeds (<5 kg), it is advisable to administer the dose in drops (0,10 ml of solution equals 3 drops).
Special precautions
As additional support measures, during treatment it is recommended to restrict the intake of water and carbohydrates, as well as to increase the exercise of the animals.

Store the bottle in the outer carton in order to protect from light.
